How to Take Your Data with You

Your information is yours. Here is every way to get it out of Caspia, share it, or delete it.

We believe the person who owns their data owns their story, and then owns their health. That only means something if you can leave with it. Here is every way to take your information out of Caspia today.

1. Retrieve information

Ask Caspia for any information you want about the records you have kept with us, and Caspia will answer. What was my last cholesterol? When did I start that medication? What did the cardiologist say in March? Just ask.

2. Get a complete download

Text Caspia and ask for your records file. Caspia texts you back a private link. Open it and press Download to get a zip holding your records: everything Caspia keeps, including your results and health items, notes, any corrections and who made them, your device readings, and the baselines Caspia worked out from them. The link works once; ask again any time for a new one.

If you help care for someone and have access to their record, you can ask for their records file the same way.

3. Keep track of your documents

You can share files with us in two ways, and they are kept differently:

  • Through your upload link. Over text, Caspia can send you a personal upload link, good for 24 hours. Caspia reads each file you upload there and keeps what it reads if you ask it to, then erases the file itself. Files you attach directly to a text work the same way, so keep your own copy.
  • Through the website. Sign in at caspiahealth.com and add files there. Caspia keeps the original, and every file you added on the website has a Download button so you can get it back any time.

4. Share your health summary with a code

Want a doctor, a family member, or anyone else to see your health picture? Text Caspia and ask to share your summary. Caspia asks you to pick a keyword, then texts you a short code. Give both to the person you choose. They enter them at caspiahealth.com/sharing to see your health summary and ask Caspia questions about it.

The code works for 12 hours, and your summary is never sent by text.

5. Share with the people helping you

You can bring family, friends, or caregivers in as helpers on your record.

  • Invite them. Text Caspia something like "add my sister" with her number, or use the invite box on the website: Caspia texts an invite to a phone number, or gives you a link to send to an email address. The invite has no health details in it, and they reply YES or accept online to join.
  • What a helper can do. A helper sees your whole record, can add to it, and can ask Caspia about it, by text or on the website. A helper can never erase anything.
  • Change your mind any time. Remove a helper by text or on the website, and their access ends immediately. Anything they added stays in your record.

Caring for someone together. You can also keep a record for someone else, such as a child or a parent, invite others to help with it, and hand it over when the time comes.

6. Print, download, or email your care plan

Your care plan can be printed, downloaded as a PDF, copied as a link, or emailed to yourself, right from the plan page.

7. Your records are still where they started

Your records still live where they started (except notes you typed or spoke to Caspia). Connecting MyChart gives Caspia a copy of your records; nothing is taken away from your portal, and you can still use it as before. Text DISCONNECT to end your connection; nothing you kept is erased.

8. Share just what is needed (coming soon)

Soon you will be able to share only certain parts of your information, instead of your whole summary.

The first will be an emergency QR code you can set as your phone's lock screen. Emergency services can scan it to see what they need to know about you: your health history, allergies, important medications, and your care preferences. It also fills in on its own with anything recent, such as being sick in the last few days or having surgery last week, so the people treating you see what is happening now, not just what is on file.

You are always in control

  • DELETE by text erases your messages, kept information, and connections.
  • On the website, delete your account from your Account page.
